I was wondering, who on here has a particular song they can’t listen to because it reminds them so much of someone? And if so, what song?
Please tell me I am not the only one.
Messenger Bird by Bright Eyes. This Old Wound by Dashboard Confessional. Expo 86 by Death Cab. Science v. Romance by Rilo Kiley. Actually this list is pretty long, so…I think I’ll stop there.
In my defense, I was really into emo and getting my heart broken in college.
Oh man, yes. And not even all in a bad way. I just have such an emotional, nostaligic connection to certain songs that listening to them makes me feel truly uncomfortable. I was joking with, I think Sarah, that the next time I seriously date someone I’m just going to listen to things like Maroon 5, Ying Yang Twins and Nickelback, so that if/when we break up, I’ll only be losing terrible music.
