About

I am a photographer based in Chicago, though I shoot all over the country, and, occasionally, the world. If you like artistic, pretty photos of people in love, you might be interested in my work. Aside from my work, I am interested in wine, fine dining, electronica and dance music, travel, politics, fashion, all things vintage, and many other generic things that many people would list in their "interests" column. Two disclaimers: 1) If you are a client who stumbled here, this is my personal blog, and therefore might very well have some silly things on it. Please read with a grain of salt. 2) This tumblr was started in the days of Christian Siriano Project Runway when only two people were reading, hence the ridiculous title.

This is so great. I love pop!

“John Nese is the proprietor of Galcos Soda Pop Stop in LA. His father ran it as a grocery store, and when the time came for John to take charge, he decided to convert it into the ultimate soda-lovers destination. About 500 pops line the shelves, sourced lovingly by John from around the world. John has made it his mission to keep small soda-makers afloat and help them find their consumers. Galcos also acts as a distributor for restaurants and bars along the West Coast, spreading the gospel of soda made with cane sugar (no high-fructose corn syrup if John can avoid it).”  via the post family via creative league via waxinandmilkin

My officemate Jesse overheard me watching this video just now and proffered one of those questions that doesn’t seem as obvious as it should be until it’s finally asked: howis it even possible that someone can take to the podium in the United States Congress and say something like this and not get laughed out of the chamber?

Because no one is there! I used to give tours of the Capitol and one of the best parts was seeing these people speaking to, literally, no one! No one is in the chamber generally except for those few people at the front (none of whom listen) and maybe two other reps waiting to speak for a minute about whatever they want.

Unfortunately most of my halloween plans were dashed due to a combo of freezing weather and no parking in wrigleyville (surprise), and instead largely centered on belly shack (<urban belly) and long, hot baths, but this costume still made me really happy. I will be recycling it for next year for what I hope will be a killer party at my place.

This is what I’ve been doing on Monday nights lately. This is probably what I’ll be doing later tonight. I am an old lady.

Why did no one tell me about this. I am old too.

Ha. Remember when we went to this friends?? Good times.
