Symphony
E took me to the symphony last night. The main feature was a solo Saint-Saens cello concerto by their principal cellist, John Sharp. My favourite piece, however, was a really neat overture by Verdi from one of his operas, La Forza del Destino. I think, perhaps, it was in Amelie. While there, I leaned over to E and asked, “Why are certain sounds sad?” I wonder about this quite a bit,...
